i think much...about much. i love creating, designing, styling, being DIFFERENT from the rest. there's
much in this brain of mine, and sometimes i don't know how to comprehend it all myself or even explain
it. on the lately, i've been dreaming up to make an EPIC maternity clothing line. SERIOUSLY. nope...
not preggo...but i know what it feels like to be pregnant. to be pregnant and be pointed to a
corner of dresses that don't look like the ones you would've shopped for "pre-pregnancy"; or to be at a mall
and find a maternity store....only to walk right out of it.
listen. i'm sure that there are many women out there that love stores like Anthropologie,
Urban Outfitters, awesome thrift stores, vintage items...but they don't carry maternity.
Maternity, anyways sounds so.....segregated...instead of celebrating an awesome life, woman are
honestly dreading the thought of wearing "maternity" clothing.
so, upon that bit of revelation, God has been placing in my heart to design a clothing line...but never
could pinpoint what direction to go to, until i sat and prayed and listened to Him. so a clothing line
for pregnant women is what was conceived.
i want to create clothes that women will feel like they didn't have to sacrifice their style. clothes that
don''t cost an arm and leg. clothes that are EPIC.
still drawing up sketches, researching, researching, thinking up label names, researching and
praying.
i believe that God is heading us towards thinking of a business...diligence brings wealth....i have to
work hard at it for it to succeed with God on my side.
any suggestions for what pregnant women would like for clothing would be gladly welcomed!
what was the worst maternity clothing you wore, bought, and or were given?
hapi monday!

oh my word! hahah seriously it sucks being preggers and not having anything to wear. lucky for me i didn't go all the way to full term. this is definitely a great idea. and you are right, for some reason maternity clothes are so expensive, even if you are only going to wear it for a few months! and being plus size in general is also a horrendous shopping experience. so maybe you can think of the plus sizes too when designing your new line ;D better yet, don't call it plus size or maternity.
ReplyDeletei enjoyed wearing dresses when i was pregnant. but no maxi dresses for me, it made me feel like i was wearing a parachute. pregnant women want should feel beautiful when they are pregnant, so pretty dresses never fail.
