there are so many lovely swim suits out there right now.  i've never been one to show so much skin, so i'm loving right now all the maillot one-piece suits and how very lady-like and sort of "conservative " they are.  they all kind of leave something to the imagination and embrace a woman's curves (curves, yes i have many of those).  but i'm so super undecided about what to get?  my number one pick is the Marc Jacobs one....but i love a bit of all of these.  plus, the price tag is really shocking me....(hence my constant on-line stalking daily for these suits to go on sale, please!)

what do you think is best?

happy tuesday.

with summer here (well i think it is) i wanna start a new tradition of picnics by the lake and parks with my family.  i've been scouting out all the things i need for a perfect and hassle free picnic.  i'm especially eyeing the re-usable items like containers on the go so i'll always have my "go-to" pieces for whenever we decide to run out the door and have a picnic date!

happy monday.

there are some really great projects and ideas around the web, especially on blogs! with the warm weather coming closer the web is a great place for ideas for parties, weddings, special occassions... here are some of my faves:

EAT DRINK CHIC.  i really adore this blog.  she has the most creative/useful downloads and/or DIY's.  this iPhone wallpaper is the most recent (here's the second set) and makes me want to have an iPhone even more.

fellowfellow.  free printable gift tags (just in time for mother's day) come in great patterns and colors.  this blog is so simple and refreshing and i want to buy everything from the shop too!

A Beautiful Mess Blog.  this was one of the very first blogs that i fell in love with and got me hooked on blogs.  this space is great for so many things : new recipes, DIY, and fashion help like this 5 Ways to Style a v-neck tee.

hope you enjoy scavenging for all the lovely ideas and inspiration!

with all the fashion goodness around, sometimes it's easy to forget that there is just as much great stuff for the men in our lives.   up above are basics that i think every man should have...i'm thinking of getting my husband those TOMS...looks like they can go with everything.

happy wednesday.

happy belated Easter to you all. sorry i missed greeting you all, but the weekend really flew by and i haven't had the chance to sit down and post at all.

i'm loving all the "natural" materials of wood, raffia, bamboo and even food being incorporated into everyday elements.

hi all! the weather here in Chicago has really been great! yesterday we took the kids to the lakefront and around the Wicker Park neighborhood for some yummy sushi. having two girls is such a blessing and a great handful.  i do love dressing them up and buying them stuff that i didnt' have as a kid.  so i dedicated this post for them.  (the DVF for Gap kids is so cute!)

happy wednesday.

minty isn't it?  this has been one of my fave color hues for awhile and i'm so excited to see it as a popping up trend for spring.  it is such a fresh take on wearing a pastel.  it goes best with neutrals to make it more vibrant (even though it's such a subtle hue). try mint colors with : gold, leather, suede, black, grey and neutrals or other textures in same color family.  it's a color that goes with every complexion and can brighten up your appearance.

happy friday.

growing up ( and still a bit now) i was a certified tomboy.  so to find any sort of floral pattern on me, would be scarce, but now i can't get enough floral patterns....especially the real girly-kind----think tea party.  i'm pretty excited that all things floral are popping up this season...even on here!

Sources:  Dollhouse oxford, Rodarte sunnies  for Opening Ceremony, Kate Spade floral creamer
Madewell Rosebloom Songbird dress, Ever Ours shoulder bag, real flower blooms
Kate Spade Sweet Zinnia ring, and Anthropologie floral sateen slims

hope you got your daily dose of this pretty trend!

i'm loving all the painted leather wallets, coin purses, satchlets, and clutches.  i know some of these were introduced pre-Winter, but they would also go great into the Spring season.  and the great plus with this trend is that it can be an easy DIY project with old leather goods you have around the house.

  happy wednesday.

it's the start of the week again and i thought i'd start it out with a Lovely Somethings post for you!  this post is filled with Pinterest finds of mine that i'm heart-ing right now.  in reality...all on my wishlist.  (my birthday seems so far away, and Christmas even farther ).

happy monday!

p.s.  these would make great Valentine's gifts as well!

for this week's lovely somethings, i wanted to showcase my latest obsession :  arrows and chevron.  i think i'm subconsciously "wanting" to build a collection with my Lauren Moffatt coat and this bracelet i just ordered from Etsy

the chevron print just makes the average stripe a bit more interesting to the eye and the arrows i really just like.

happy monday.

these are the lovely somethings that have stolen my heart at the moment.  hopefully i can make this a regular feature on the blog (if life lets me).  i originally used to do a 10 hapi things feature, but it got a bit draining to find those 10 perfect things.  so for now i'll just be compiling whatever is making me smile at the moment.

Chicago has been entertaining rain, snow and low temps, so school, reading Harvest, and blog surfing are my to-do's on the lately.
