...my birthday!!  man another year coming up on age (and so quickly again).  for the next days and into next week i'll be dedicating the posts to "birthday" themed subjects like cake, parties, outfits, and gift wrapping and packaging.

of course you know i had to compile a birthday list of what i'm dreaming (drooling is the truth) about.

happy wednesday.

ah...yes the party is now done and over.  it feels like the planning took longer than the actual party itself but it was great fun celebrating this blessing that God so graciously gave us...jae we love you, happy birthday baby girl.

so we decided to have her birthday party at Sauganash Park District in the auditorium because its the best of both worlds:  indoors for shelter in case the weather wasn't being nice (which it wasnt....it poured so hard that I thought it would just be me eating all the food and desserts ) and it has a really nice playground and gym for the kids and adults.

probably the best part of the decor I loved are the balloons...they are the 36" round size and they really become the main decor piece.  In my future posts I'll dedicate some DIY tutes on the centerpieces and other decor....all my decor was DIY...i'm pretty proud of that.

okay...so enjoy the intro pics, I say intro because there are so many that I'm deciding on the best ones to show still. and i wish there were more pics of jae, but she fell asleep the most of the party...she is still a baby after all.

enjoy.

( owl cake recreated by Maureen Kanter..thank you!)

sorry for the photo heaviness of the post, but i really don't get to make this blog too personal with photos so when i get a chance to...i'll take advantage of it.

birthday coma :  being in a state of overbundance on love, happy, and cake; also being in a state of denial
for the conclusion of the birthday event.

ah....birthday week is over.  but honestly the weeks before my birthday was like having a birthday month.  it was a whirlwind couple of weeks:  went to Lake Delavan Resort (Lake Geneva suburb) with Jasmin and the families ....very eventful! , then spent the week of my birthday with my parents and sis then birthday weekend with my husband and kiddos...the best.  i'll  be posting the events later because there's too much to show & tell in just one tiny post.

thank you God for another year of blessings, grace, mercy that overflows.  thank you for je who is my other half and love.  thank you for protecting my girls and keeping them in your divine healing and health.  thank you for family and the love they always show.  amongst all the materialistic things given to me (that i'm thankful for) i give thanks to YOU who saved me and taught me what LOVE is.

summer is finally here and hopefully i can get in some DIY projects on the blog to share.

hapi monday!

p.s.  photo from here.

so i'm back from my hiatus of blogging....felt real strange not posting anything for awhile.
finals went well and yet another semester of graduate school is at my door knocking (started this week)
and i'm itching for this degree to already find its end.

last weekend was a variety of being spent celebrating my mom's pre-birthday at the Trump Tower Chicago Hotel downtown...and it was really relaxing...(pictures to post in future posts).  amongst the fun spent shopping, taking the sites in....it was also spent reflecting on life.  it's ironic how at church we just had an outreach called "life is short"----and during the weekend je's dad was admitted into the hospital for pneumonia----it might not seem much to some, but being Christian you see those that don't know God (no relationship) and see how short life is for them....without knowing and participating in God's love and goodness.  thankfully, je shared to his dad about God's love, and now comes the part of continual feeding of God's word.

May is upon us, along with many birthdays!  well...it was my mom's birthday may 3rd and... HAPPY BIRTHDAY JASMIN! and my tatay (my grandfather) is turning a wonderful 100 years old this sunday (saturday Philippines time). how i wish i could be there to hug him and wish him in person a blessed birthday.

also....it'll be one month till my birthday comes...hee hee..and i couldn't help myself but to make a birthday wish list (this will never get old) .  there's so much more, but these are at the top...
