the kiddos are early birds...like they seriously wake up around 730am.  which means  i don't get that much missed 8 hours of sleep.  but today was different.  they both slept-in until 930am!  and you couldn't even imagine how much a mom can get done in that 2 hour time frame: washed dishes, cleaned up floors, folded clothing, actually eat breakfast, cut-out pattern pieces, check emails....yup i did all this.

these moments are rare....and i snatch 'em up as quickly as they go.
but when they do wake up...it puts such a smile on my face.

hapi tuesday!

hey there! yes i've been away from the blog for awhile....just so much happened this weekend...it's been an overload.  lot's of prayer, lack of sleep, reflection and change.

to start off my return, thought i'd post my 10 hapi : things.  also, as you may have noticed, the title of the blog has changed (but don't worry this blog is still filled with much happiness). hope you enjoy the post.

1.  snowball food trucks.  man i really wish that Chicago had a Skylite Snowball truck roaming around....i would order every flavor.  spotted on You Are My Fave.

2. diy bracelet.  i spotted this on honestlywtf,  it's a bracelet made out of washers and hemp rope....following the "hardware" jewelry trend.  genius.

3.  dual purpose program guides.  of course only Martha Stewart would make a wedding program already filled with confetti.

4.  polaroid birth announcement.  eek!  this is a great diy idea from Fresh Baked Paper Goods.

5.  Bash Please.  this event production company is so artistic and looks at the aesthetic of moments.  check out the rest of their awesome studio tour here.  photos by : Laure Joliet

6.  love that lasts.  this is a pic of when tay & nay celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary (circa 1990). a few days after nay passed away they would have celebrated their 70th anniversary.  happy 100th tay, nay you are missed.

7.  spring shoes.  i'm a big shoe fan....and i'm loving these from F21.

8.  the chocolate cake from Fondant Etc.  my friend maureen makes the best cakes (design and taste). Photo by Maureen.

 9.  flying lanterns.  amazing.  from here.

10.  lace/eyelet details.  of course Anthropologie.  the details of the lace are so feminine.  lovely. dress here & skirt here.

hapi thursday

(belated)

i don't really get much time on the weekends to post anything, and frankly i don't really
like posting on weekends...it's family time and rest.

so my mother's day greeting is a day late..and i think that's okay right? as you know, i'm a mother of 2 very beautiful girls...and i wouldn't trade it for anything....anything. mother's don't get paid vacation days, an hourly wage....and that''s just how it should be because you can't put a price on what mother's sacrifice for their family and others.  i'm so blessed to be a stay@home and to see every bit of my kiddos growing up is all i need.  sure i can get super stressed and crazy (pulling my hair out crazy), but at the end of the day God's grace upon my life and my family's brings you back to reality and see this crazy thing called LOVE all around me everyday....my kids have shown me how to endure, to be patient, to be silly and to see how much God sacrifices for us.

hapi mum's day to all you mama's out there...remember everyday is mum's day!

jae is 7 months today.  wow....more than half the year since she was born has gone by...gone by in a flash. i'll admit i haven't been taking that many pics of her compared to shi...but i promise myself and to her that i would capture her month by month.  and i couldn't resist taking a pic of our in-house deejay: shi wanted to wear the WESC headphones ....and she looks cuter in them than i.  happy 7 months jae!
